Tudor BuildingWelcome to the website of the Enfield Grammar School Old Boys Association.

We are currently attempting to revive the Association and once again plan an annual dinner. We would be pleased to hear from any Old Boy who is willing to assist. In the meantime, anyone who left the school before 2000 is welcome to attend the Older Old Boys lunch, details below.

On this page you'll find the latest news from the Old Boys.  Do explore the site to find out more about us, what we do and indulge in some nostalgia. For members, there's a separate area with more material and the opportunity to make contact with others in the Association.

As well as this website, we have a presence on:-

Once again, the Headteacher, Chris Lamb, has invited us all to a 'Jingle and Mingle' evening at the school:-

"We are holding our annual Jingle & Mingle event on 17 December this year and hope to see even more past students and staff as we endeavour to keep growing our Old Boys Association.

The EGSOBA ‘Old Boys Association’ was founded well over 100 years ago and the aim is to keep in contact, share stories, network, support the school and enjoy a bit of social time together.

If you are an ex-student or ex-member of staff (however long ago or however recent) and would like to come along, please email the office with your RSVP (remember to include your full name in the email and, if possible, the years you were in the school).

Please feel free to share this invite to anyone who has had a connection to the school."

UPDATE

The booking form is now available and can be downloaded here. The price remains at £50.

I trust you will all be enjoying a pleasant summer but will be looking forward to attending the Enfield Older Old Boys Annual lunch at the Enfield Golf Club.  The date for your diaries is slightly later in October to allow those who are still in summer holiday mode to attend just before the clocks go back.  Please keep a note of the date:

Wednesday 23rd October 2024

Anyone who left the school before 2000 qualifies as an 'Older Old Boy' and will be welcome to attend this event.

The club did a great job looking after us last year. The food and drink were very good. Amazingly the club appears to have kept the prices down, although I cannot guarantee there will not be a price rise between now and October. I expect the same meal with wine will come out at about £50, the same as last year’s price. I know some members thought that was a bit steep but, bearing in mind the quality of the food and the past year’s inflation, I think it is very competitive.

I will send out a further email with a booking form in August. Do please spread the word to anyone you know who may not be on my mailing list.

I will be happy to be the master of ceremonies but suggestions for the role of Chairman will be very welcome. We will invite the Headmaster and the Chairman of the Governors as our guest as usual.

Enjoy your summer and we will meet in the Autumn.
